Steven Clayton
Despite losing someone dear to his heart, Mr. Steven Clayton continues to nurture a loving, caring, and connected world around him. He always wears a wide smile on his face. "You don't have a problem making friends, do you?" Mr. Clayton recalled his Pastor’s remark while they were on a boat cruise. Indeed, he is cheerful, chatty, and fun to be with! He is a people-person; so, if you needed someone to break the ice in a room, Mr. Clayton's personality fits the bill. Mr. Clayton connects with networks of people and places by traveling around the world. From visiting the Great Wall of China to trying various dishes in Peru, he has traveled many places. He has toured European countries such as, Greece, Croatia, and the Netherlands. During these voyages around the world, Mr. Clayton has always found it easy to make new friends around the world. He has plans to visit more countries in the future. Next on his bucket list is Egypt. Mr. Clayton has grown from his travels across the globe and has been able to see and appreciate the beauty and diversity that this world offers him. His love for adventure is not whimsical; rather, it emanates from his undying love for his late mother. His goal to traverse the world comes from his desire to fulfill his mother's dreams before she passed. Mr. Clayton loves the bonds he has with his family and continues to nurture a strong relationship with his siblings. After his mother's demise, Mr. Clayton, and his sister continued their mother’s legacy by caring for a garden bed in the Cherry Street Community Garden. Sharing this garden bed with his sister has helped them nurture their family bond. They grow okra, pepper, and squash in their garden bed. Mr. Clayton’s inspiring story teaches us how, with determination and commitment, we can make our lifelong dreams come true, despite all the daily obstacles we face in our life. |
